NeoStudio: configure, test and deploy NeoCore

NeoStudio is the configuration environment for NeoCore. Build control logic in Function Block Diagram or Lua, configure Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, OPC UA, MQTT and BACnet connections, and define operating limits for each connected asset. Test logic in simulation, monitor it live, force tags during commissioning, and deploy versioned projects to NeoCore devices.

What you can do in NeoStudio

Build logic

Function Block Diagram with more than 400 ready, tested blocks, plus your own blocks in Lua or C.

Configure connections

Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, OPC UA, MQTT and BACnet, with a configuration screen for each driver.

Set operating limits

Define the limits each connected asset must respect.

Simulate

Test sequences, timers and calculations on Windows before you go to site.

Commission

Monitor logic live, force tags and apply warm logic updates on a running device.

Deploy versions

Deploy versioned projects to NeoCore devices.

ConnectionsA configuration screen for each NeoCore driver: Modbus, DNP3, IEC 60870-5-104, OPC UA, MQTT, BACnet and more
Operating limitsLimits defined for each connected asset
SimulationFunction-block logic simulated on Windows; drivers, field I/O and scan timing are verified in the NeoCore runtime
CommissioningLive monitoring, tag forcing and warm logic updates on a running device
DeploymentVersioned projects deployed to NeoCore devices

Simulation covers function-block logic. Protocol drivers, field I/O and the real scan cycle run only in the NeoCore runtime on Linux (a controller, or the documented Debian x86 runtime in a virtual machine), so communications and timing are verified there. About NeoCore

Frequently asked questions

What is NeoStudio?

NeoStudio is the configuration environment for NeoCore Edge Runtime. It is used to build control logic in Function Block Diagram or Lua, configure protocol connections, define operating limits for each connected asset, test logic in simulation, monitor and force tags during commissioning, and deploy versioned projects to NeoCore devices.

Who is NeoStudio for?

NeoStudio is for installation partners, integrators and technical staff who configure and commission NeoCore. Building owners using NeoShift do not need it: NeoTechX or its partner configures the site.

How do I get NeoStudio?

NeoStudio is available on request. Leave your work email with the form on this page, and NeoTechX will contact you about access and evaluation.

Does NeoStudio run on macOS or Linux?

No. NeoStudio runs on Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit) with .NET Framework 4.7.2. It configures NeoCore runtimes on Linux controllers.

What does simulation cover?

NeoStudio simulates function-block logic on Windows, so sequences, timers and calculations can be tested without hardware. Protocol drivers, field I/O and the real scan cycle run only in the NeoCore runtime, so communications and timing are verified there.
